This would be a day of quiet reflection while my wife stayed in bed. I spent a lot of time on the balcony. Copyright © 2025 Tim under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International License.

The ship is heading south, so those of us on the port side are looking towards land. Very beautiful day. Copyright © 2025 Tim under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International License.

Due to COVID, we have been kicked off the tour bus for the ride back to our car. While my wife rests, I spend time on balcony with the fun task of trying to make phone calls and get a rental car. I start with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car where we have been long time members. They refuse to offer a one-way rental. I then explore Uber and Lyft as options, but it seems there's no guarantee a driver will choose to take the job. Depression sets in.

Finally my research turns up an app called Wingz. "Wingz is a rideshare app with a twist: instead of random drivers, it focuses on pre-scheduled, personalized rides. You can book airport trips or around-town rides in advance, and even rebook with the same favorite driver if you click. It feels more like having a dependable friend pick you up than hailing a stranger—reliable, less rushed, and with the comfort of knowing who’s behind the wheel before they arrive. Perfect for travelers who like a little more certainty baked into their plans." I get the app installed, book a ride, and finally breath a sigh of relief! What an ordeal! I get an alert on my phone. It's a weather alert for our hometown on the Oregon coast. Tsunami warning! It seems there has been a big earthquake in Alaska! The good times keep coming. 🤣 Copyright © 2025 Tim under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International License.

Dinner is room service. I finally try the ship's famous hot dog. Surprisingly, it's almost average. Not bad. Copyright © 2025 Tim under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International License.

We received a lot of calls from medical during the quarantine. At 9:00 PM they called and asked about my wife's condition. She said she still wasn't feeling good. They asked her if should would remain in the cabin until morning. She agreed. We didn't have too much going on.

Position check. Why am I still awake? We're parallel to our home. I daydream about jumping ship as I think about going all the way back to San Francisco and driving back to Oregon when we're already here. So close!
